What to wear to a protest march for science? It's a serious debate on the March for Science, Seattle Facebook page.

But it's not just about fashion. Posters disagreed over what best conveys the message of the march to the public. The original poster suggested everyone dress in black and white, like "the facts." Others disagreed, writing that science is about more of a "process."

Another popular suggestion was white lab coats, which also met resistance. One poster thought the aerial images could look too much like the KKK, especially to minorities who are underrepresented in the sciences as it is.

One more idea was for everyone to wear knit "brain" hats like the pussy hats that people wore to the recent Women's march.

For their part, organizers say just dress however you want. If you're a scientist, maybe wear your work clothes. But they just hope scientists and their supporters will show up to express their support for science and science funding.
