VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
KUOW Live Events & Partner Events
KUOW produces live events such as Week in Review Live, Inside 2020 with NPR and Stories from the Wild. Live events connect KUOW's programming, journalists and on-air talent with the community-at-large and volunteers are instrumental in their success. Volunteers assist with setup and execution of events, guest check-in, ushering, engaging with guests, distributing collateral, and anything else that goes on behind-the-scenes! Help introduce the station to new communities at partner events through face-to-face interactions and table displays. You will also get a chance to attend some cool partner events such as The Moth, national NPR shows, Festal, Folklife, Seattle Arts & Lectures, museum openings, theater performances and more.
Community Engagement
KUOW’s Community Engagement (CE) team ensures that KUOW has a meaningful and interactive relationship with the informed public we create and serve. They do this through intimate and smaller scale programs such as Curiosity Club and Ask A..., Volunteers are needed to assist with outreach and supporting the CE team at programs.
RadioActive
KUOW’s RadioActive Youth Media program hosts workshops where young people discover public radio journalism and gain access to the skills, community and institutional resources that spur their growth as media makers. Volunteers are need to assist with implementing workshops duties including event set-up, greeting attendees and supporting RadioActive team members.
