There are those that have been expecting big changes for a neighborhood in Queens, New York called Long Island City.

It’s got aging infrastructure, sure, but also subways and water transportation. It seemed destined for something.

But when Amazon announced it was moving in, many of the residents didn’t see it as a noble knight riding in on a shiny, two-day delivery truck. Rather, there’s concerns it’s a conquering king riding high off a sweetheart deal with the city, set to overtake the character of the neighborhood.

On this episode of Prime(d), we walk through the streets of Long Island City to predict the future opportunities and pain points.

Our theme song is by Raymond Scott. You also heard "Heartline" by Pezzner, a Seattle artist. You also heard songs about Amazon and Seattle by Jim Page.
