Fans of Donald Trump lined up by the thousands to hear him speak at a rally Tuesday evening in Everett.

They were met by protesters who said his policies would be bad for Boeing, minorities, women and the country in general.

This was Trump's second appearance in Washington state. He spoke at a rally in Lynden back in May after wrapping up the Republican nomination for president.

Here are some of the voices, for and against Trump, from outside Xfinity Arena on Tuesday.

Christina Oman of Milton showed up at 5:45 a.m. to line up for the speech -- not scheduled until more than 12 hours later.

She called Trump a true patriot and said this was a special opportunity.

As the line snaked along the sidewalk, vendors hawked Trump paraphernalia from tables. James Buckholtz ran a table near the front of the line. He said he's apolitical, and sells merchandise at rallies for every party and every candidate.

Buckholtz said this year, Trump fans showed a willingness to spend the most on merch, followed by Hillary supporters, followed by Bernie supporters. He didn't say anything about merchandise for the Green Party's Jill Stein or the Libertarian Party's Gary Johnson.

Trump fan David Johnston of Maple Valley got there at 2 a.m. He said he arrived that early in hopes of getting his hat signed. What does Johnston like about Trump?

Raymond Miller of Marysville is a retired veteran and former Democratic Party official. He supports Hillary Clinton. He says America can't go back to the bad old days.

Mahesh Parshotam of Edmonds works for Boeing. He worries about how a Trump presidency would affect his family.

Sasha Somer was advocating for neither of the above -- not Trump or Clinton. She says Green Party candidate Jill Stein is the heir to Bernie Sanders' mantle:
