We take calls from teachers and educators from around the region to hear their hopes and concerns with a return to in-classroom learning. Plus, we hear about the ins and outs of the pastry industry. And finally, we revisit a conversation on maritime trade in the wake of a new Scandies Rose inquiry.

The Pastry Project is here to reimagine an industry

Making pastries is tough work -- but breaking into the pastry profession can be even more difficult. Led by Heather Hodge and Emily Kim, The Pastry Project is seeking to break down the industry barriers right here in Seattle. Bill Radke talks with Emily and Heather about the ins and outs of everything pastry, as well as what needs to change to make the profession more accessible.

Inquiry opened into the sinking of the Scandies Rose

On New Years Eve, the Scandies Rose -- a Washington-managed crabbing boat -- went down in the Gulf of Alaska, killing five of the seven crew members. Last week the Coast Guard opened a new inquiry into the incident. We revisit our conversation with Joe Stacey, a maritime lawyer at Stacey and Jacobsen, who filled us in on maritime safety.

Teachers weigh in on vaccination and a possible return to the classroom

This week Governor Jay Inslee announced a statewide priority to vaccinate Washington teachers and educators. We open the phonelines for educators across the Puget Sound region, who share their perspectives on the prospective danger and safety of teacher vaccination and a potential return to the classroom.
