Is teleworking a good idea?
Microsoft, Amazon, and other large companies have requested their workers telecommute until further notice. Is this the way of the future? Or an annoying inconvenience?
Warren Boeker is a Professor of Management at the University of Washington's Foster School of Business. He says that opinion on teleworking is pretty split.
Some find it isolating, and argue that the conversations employees have in the office boost creativity. Others say that call in meetings and online messaging make up for those conversations.
But we'll just have to wait and see what habits stick once businesses are allowed to have employees back in the office. For now, try to keep the boredom at bay, and remember to take a walk every now and then.
