Amazon's founder and original CEO Jeff Bezos will step down this summer. And when he does, he says Amazon Web Services chief Andy Jassy will take the helm.

It's news that could imply changes at the helm of the company, which has clashed with employees over issues like workplace safety and the environment.

Maren Costa is a former Amazon employee who worked on the smart-speaker team, Amazon Go and more. She was fired from the company after she became a vocal critic from within, and she is a member of Amazon Employees for Climate Justice.

She says Jassy's rise to the CEO position does not necessarily signal a shift on key issues.
