Earlier this month, Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell nominated Maiko Winkler-Chin to be the new Director of the city's Office of Housing. But who is she, and what does she plan to do in that position?

Right now, Maiko Winkler Chin is the Executive Director of the Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority, which owns and manages affordable housing and works on economic development in the neighborhood.

But, if she's approved by the Seattle City Council, she'll soon have a new position as head of the city's Office of Housing.

Soundside host Libby Denkmann met Winkler-Chin in Seattle's International District, at Hing Hay Park. As they took a walk around the neighborhood, Libby asked Winkler-Chin what her hopes, and fears, were for the office of housing.
