What is the most humane, cost effective way to end homelessness?
We know that homelessness is a problem. It's hard to go anywhere around Seattle without seeing people living outside. And SoundQs listeners have been asking what the region can do better.
To try and answer those questions, the SoundQs team looked at the present and future of homelessness in the region, including what we need to do better if we’re going to get people in housing for good and whether any other city has figured it out.
Guests:
- Sara Rankin, a law professor at Seattle University, where she directs the Homeless Rights Advocacy Project
- Marc Dones, executive director of the National Innovation Service, currently working with Seattle and King County to help the region develop a more unified response to homelessness.
