This week, the Washington State Supreme Court ruled that charter schools are legal and they can be funded with lottery money, even though they're privately run.

Seattle was going to pay for affordable housing with an employee head tax on big businesses. But businesses and some voters protested the tax and the city quickly repealed it. Is it time for a plan B? Seattle City Councilmember Kshama Sawant says yes. She has proposed three plans as an alternative.
