King County Executive Dow Constantine has voted. Have you?
Dow Constantine joined Bill Radke in studio to talk about election day and his executive order changing inquests into officer-involved shootings.
The King County Executive says he's already dropped his ballot in the mail. We talk about how he voted on the ballot initiatives and why he issued an executive order earlier this month to change the inquest process for incidents involving use of deadly force by law enforcement.
King County Executive Dow Constantine
Bill Radke talks to Dow Constantine about his ballot, changing the police deadly force inquest process, and what he thinks of comments made by his colleague, King County Councilor Kathy Lambert, regarding a state senator who has been accused of rape.
Constantine also responds to comments made by King County Councilor Kathy Lambert, when she was interviewed by a KUOW reporter about the Republican party and sexual assault.
Editor’s Note 10/31/2018: In the audio of this interview, Constantine says the King County Executive Office could not investigate Sen. Joe Fain. A Seattle woman says Sen. Fain raped her in 2007. Fain has denied the allegation. Constantine says, "Senator Fain at that time was not a senator, but he worked for the county council, so Councilor [Kathy] Lambert is one of those who would determine whether it was an employment-related investigation ... The senator never worked for the executive branch, so we don't have a role in this. County Council has their own human resources staff; they can determine whether it's a personnel issue here."
