How are you celebrating (platonic) love this week?
This is the week of high-pressure dinner reservations, overpriced roses — and, for the enterprising, discount chocolates on the 15th. Valentine's Day is upon us.
So much pressure gets put on finding the end all, be all partnership. But American adults are staying single longer than ever, and in some cases never marrying at all.
The upside seems to be that friendship is no longer getting short shrift, as it has in the past.
Recent books like All the Single Ladies and Text Me When You Get Home have celebrated female friendships in particular, and Rhaina Cohen of NPR's Hidden Brain is emphatically a fan. She sat down with Bill Radke to discuss friendship and love, friendship as love, and what she did for Galentine's Day.
Here's to love, in all its forms.
