With the Mariners about to play their first playoff games in decades, fans are feeling pretty good.

But don't let those warm, fuzzy feelings fool you – America's pastime has a seedy history.

From sign stealing, to adding just a little bit of extra spit on the ball, professional baseball has created plenty of ways to fool crowds and umpires.

But there's a fine line between the written and unwritten rules of the game.

It makes you wonder, where is the line between innovation and cheating in baseball?

Back in August, Soundside host Libby Denkmann caught up with Dan Levitt and Mark Armour, authors of the book, "Intentional Balk: Baseball's Long and Sordid History of Innovation and Cheating."
