Friday politics: Durkan wades into Seattle City Council elections

This week Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan took the rather unusual step of making a high-profile endorsement in a key City Council race ahead of the August primary.

Durkan warned voters not to opt for "socialist" candidate, and it's no secret the relationship between her and the council has been rocky ever since she took office.

But will getting involved so heavily in the primary election help change the tenor and tone of City Hall? Political analysts C.R. Douglas and Joni Balter talk with KUOW's Angela King about Durkan's move.
