What’s the best thing you can do to help during this pandemic? The answer is still “stay at home.” But while you’re there, University of Washington scientist Brian Koepnik has a game for you. It’s called Fold-It, and you could help find therapies to treat the disease.

My 71yo mom is a nurse. I'm worried - she's not.

Many folks with older parents have been begging them to stay home. KUOW community engagement producer Kristin Leong is no different – but her mom is. Kathy Leong is a medical-surgical nurse at a Bellevue hospital, very close to the nursing home at the early epicenter of the US coronavirus outbreak. Kristin made a radio piece recently called “My 71-year-old mom is a nurse on the front lines of COVID-19. I’m worried. She’s not.”
