Trash eagles

Eagles: majestic. Noble. Inspiring. Also, dirty and prone to spreading trash across the manicured lawns of the Pacific Northwest. Steve Osmek, wildlife manager at Sea-Tac Airport, spoke to Bill Radke about a King County plan to disperse eagles from the landfill using… hand-fired pyrotechnics.

High capacity magazines

There’s a bill in Olympia that could make Washington the 9th state in the nation to limit the number of rounds in a firearm magazine. Renee Hopkins, CEO of the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, supports the bill; Dave Workman of TheGunMag.com is in opposition.

Tattoo culture

Seattle is a heavily tattooed city. And the Museum of Pop Culture is recognizing that with a show on tattoing and tattoo culture in the area. Tattoo artists Ricky Gaspar, Emma Kate Shaw, and Nahaan are all featured in the exhibit.

Kennedy Catholic High School protests

Two teachers have departed Burien’s Kennedy Catholic High School under disputed circumstances. The school says they resigned voluntarily; the teachers’ supporters say they were pushed out for being in same-gender partnerships. KUOW digital reporter Ashley Hiruko was at the scene of one of the protests.
