It’s day one of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, with Vice President Kamala Harris riding what’s been characterized as a “wave of enthusiasm” among Democrats, many of whom expressed misgivings about the party’s prospects just a month ago when President Biden was expected to be the nominee.

But is the enthusiasm enough to convince voters that Harris has what it takes to become the next president of the United States? And what does she have to do to win over voters who aren’t sold?
