Why you should be careful hitting the gym while recovering from Covid

Experts say that exercise is good for people recovering from Covid. But they also warn that you should be careful when it comes to your workout regimen, and gradually work you way back to pre-illness levels.

"Things to look out for are shortness of breath, fatigue, brain fog," said Jordan Metzl, a sports medicine doctor in New York. "And especially those symptoms that are worsening would be a huge red flag, so if it becomes more difficult to do things you definitely want to talk to your doctor right away, or things that linger for more than a couple weeks."

Metzl says that people should not push through things like shortness of breath and chest pain after recovering from Covid.
