Tim Walz's time in China
On Tuesday, voters will see Tim Walz and JD Vance on stage as they face off in the first and only vice presidential debate.
Walz has been a coach, a teacher, a congressman and a governor. One item on his resume that may come up in the debate is his many trips to China. In one of his first jobs, during his 20s, he spent a year teaching in China. Then, over several years, he and his wife brought many students on trips to China. He also connected with human rights activists there.
Here & Now‘s Scott Tong talks with Demetri Sevastopulo, who covers the relationship between the U.S. and China for the Financial Times.
