The online game trying to make civics and media literacy competitive and fun

It’s the nonpartisan National Voter Registration Day. In partnership with the League of Women Voters, students across Alameda County, California, are learning about government, elections, and media literacy today through a novel method: an online game.

We discuss the origins and future of the “VerifyIt!” game with the volunteer who dreamt it up and one of the teenage programmers trying to make it appealing to young people.
