The basics behind the UW Researcher Strike
Researchers at the University of Washington are on strike.
Research scientists and engineers, as well as postdoctoral researchers have all taken to the picket lines to demand living wages, child-care support, and other benefits.
They went on strike Wednesday, filling UW's Red Square for a rally to kick things off.
KUOW's Monica Nicklesburg has been covering the story, and sat down with Soundside host Libby Denkmann to discuss the details.
