Soundside has your February film festival picks
With chilly winter weather in full effect, there’s nothing better than a cozy trip to the movies.
February is a big month for film festivals across our state, and we’ve rounded up a few people who are working across our region to bring movie magic to audiences of all ages.
- Kendra Sherrill is the festival director for Children's Film Festival Seattle. The festival is kicking off Friday, Feb. 3, and runs until Sunday, Feb. 12. In-person and virtual screenings are available.
- Ellison Shieh is the co-director for the Seattle Asian American Film Festival. In-person screenings run from Feb. 23 to Feb. 26, with a virtual option running from Feb. 27 to March 5.
- Michael Mitchell is the co-executive director and one of the founding members of Under the Valley, a film festival in Yakima. Audiences can check out the festival in person on Feb. 25
And there are a couple other film festivals happening around the region this month, too.
- The Finnish Film Showcase starts in Bellingham on Friday, Feb. 3, and runs through Sunday, Feb 5.
- Noir City returns to the SIFF Cinema Egyptian from Feb. 10 to Feb. 16.
