Possible listeria outbreak: More than 11 million pounds of meat recalled

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced a sweeping recall of more than 11 million pounds of meat and poultry products due to a possible listeria outbreak. The recall includes hundreds of ready-to-eat items like salads and frozen meals, and it affects popular grocery chains like Walmart, Kroger and Trader Joe’s. There have been multiple other listeria outbreaks this year, one of which caused 10 deaths.

Host Deepa Fernandes talks with Barbara Kowalcyk, director of the Institute for Food Safety and Nutrition Security at George Washington University.
