Possibility of major port strikes looms

The potential for a major strike at ports along the U.S. East and Gulf coasts is growing — and it could significantly impact the American and global economy.

The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) is debating striking from the beginning of October at ports that handle about half of the nation’s cargo from ships.
