Kim Malcolm talks with Pierce County Executive and Sound Transit board member Bruce Dammeier about the passage of Initiative 976.

On Tuesday, Washington voters overwhelmingly approved Initiative 976, which will reduce car tab fees to $30.

Sound Transit says the passage of I-976 will slash $20 billion from the agency's budget for light rail expansion in Pierce, Snohomish, and King County.

On Thursday, Seattle and King County officials announced their intent to file a lawsuit to stop I-976 from taking effect.
