Overdose deaths drop for first time in decades

For the first time in decades, the U.S. is seeing a significant decrease in overdose deaths across the country. Thousands of lives were saved, bringing hope to many after years of little progress in curbing the opioid epidemic.

We talk to NPR addiction correspondent Brian Mann about what might be behind the decrease in deaths.
