The Olympics are well underway and already U.S. stars are having success.

Simone Biles performed well over the weekend despite a taped-up ankle and is expected to be the competitor to beat in the team and all-around finals this week. American swimmer Tori Huske won an upset gold medal in the butterfly, while French home favorite Leon Marchand won his first Olympic medal, dominating the 400-meter medley.

For more on the stories — and scandals — of the games so far, host Scott Tong speaks to NPR’s Brian Mann in Paris.
