Magic mushrooms drive interest in psychedelics

Despite the flood of interest in psychedelics, the U.S. doesn’t have much data on the number of Americans now trying out these drugs or exactly how they are using them.

Two new reports released this week indicate that magic mushrooms now top the list, followed by LSD. It’s estimated about 3% of Americans used psilocybin, the chemical compound in mushrooms, last year. Many of them are opting to “microdose” instead of taking a full trip.
