'Mistaken identity' leads to lockdown at VA Puget Sound
UPDATE: Seattle Police surrounded the building to investigate, and said the incident is a case of "mistaken identity" by the witness who made the report. Seattle Police left the area.
Original story:
An individual with a gun was spotted at the VA Puget Sound on Tuesday morning, sending medical teams into lockdown.
Early reports indicate that the individual is an employee, or former employee of the VA. Those reports come from the police scanner chatter, and an individual inside the VA who is hearing that as well.
Employees inside the buildings have not heard gunshots.
An email went out to VA employees on Monday saying there was a credible threat made, and that there would be more police on campus. The email said that it was not related to ongoing protests in downtown Seattle. It made no mention of an employee.
VA police -- the VA has its own force -- were seen standing on rooftops.
This is a developing story.
