Join KUOW's Open House On Public Radio Day
In honor of Public Radio Day, KUOW will host an open house on Thursday, December 18, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at our studios in the University District. Come see behind the scenes at the station that you hear every day!
This year KUOW is partnering with six other public stations (C89, KAOS, KBCS, KEXP, KING and KPLU) to celebrate Puget Sound area public radio that educates you, entertains you, exposes you to new ideas, and keeps you company every day. On Public Radio Day, for each gift of $120 or more made to a participating station, a pair of socks will be donated to the United Way of King County and distributed to area shelters this winter. Why socks? Public Radio Day organizers asked local homeless shelters what they needed most this time of year, and the answer was a resounding need for socks. Together we’re answering that need with donations of good quality, warm socks for shelters this year. That’s why, with your gift of $120 or more, you can chose to donate socks in lieu of a thank-you gift, and help public radio support area shelters. Help someone in need and support public radio in our region. You can make your donation online or in person at our open house – or just stop by to enjoy a complimentary station tour and refreshments!
