Israeli airstrike hits UN school in Gaza, killing dozens

An Israeli airstrike on Thursday hit a United Nations school housing displaced Palestinians in Gaza, killing dozens inside. According to local reports, two missiles struck classrooms on the top floor of the school in the Nuseirat refugee camp. Israeli military spokespeople called it “a precise strike on a Hamas compound.” The Israeli military believed the school was holding several fighters, a claim disputed by Gaza’s Hamas-run government media office and the UN agency running the school.
