Surveillance In Seattle

Did you know the city of Seattle uses at least 29 different surveillance technologies? We talk to Seattle's Chief Privacy Officer Ginger Armbruster, spokesperson for the Seattle Police Department Sean Whitcomb, and KUOW reporter Carolyn Adolph.

They also discussed technologies that aren't currently on the list, including "greykey," a device that could unlock an iPhone.

The city is holding five public meetings to hear from residents about the technology the city uses. The next meetings are on October 25 at 5:00 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, October 29 at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, and October 30 at 5:00 p.m. at the Green Lake Branch Library and November 5 at 4:30 p.m. at the Green Lake Branch Library.
