Given the continued inclement weather, most area cultural organizations have decided to remain closed for the second day this week.

In fact, it’s easier to list the local entity that’s open: The Nordic Museum, in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood.

Formerly the Nordic Heritage Museum, the institution has a new home on Market Street and a major travelling exhibition from Sweden on display.

Both Tacoma Art Museum and the Museum of Glass are closed today. So is the Bellevue Arts Museum.

Seattle Art Museum is normally closed on Tuesdays, but hasn’t yet issued an advisory about its plans for Wednesday.

The Frye Art Museum, as well as the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience, are closed. So is the Northwest African American Museum.

Seattle Children’s Theatre and Pacific Northwest Ballet have cancelled their school programs today. PNB’s Francia Russell Center in Bellevue has also cancelled classes.

Officials at both organizations will wait for tomorrow’s weather forecast before making the call to remain closed or reopen.

Smaller cultural groups throughout the region are also playing it by ear.
