How politics divide a Michigan Arab American family

Two longtime Palestinian rights activists, Huwaida Arraf and Adam Shapiro, live in Michigan, where much of the Arab American community is divided on whether to vote for Democrat Kamala Harris or for a third-party candidate in the upcoming presidential election. The Arraf-Shapiro household is also divided.

Here & Now‘s Deepa Fernandes traveled to Michigan in late September. She visited Arraf and Shapiro at their home to talk about their decades of work for Palestinian rights and how it’s influencing their thoughts on who to vote for in November.
