How a hospital avoided removing organs from living donor

Recent allegations have raised questions about the activities of groups charged with retrieving organs for transplantation. A man was thrashing on the gurney and had tears in his eyes as he was being wheeled in for the surgery to have his organs removed — not dead. The operation was stopped and the man is living with his sister now, impaired but still very much alive.
