'Forever Reign.' A celebration of Megan Rapinoe in Seattle
OL Reign forward Megan Rapinoe played in her final regular-season home game against the Washington Spirit at Lumen Field on Friday night in Seattle.
Fans, many wearing pink wigs in honor of Rapinoe, broke a National Women's Soccer League attendance record with 34,130 in the audience.
"It's been such an incredible journey," said Rapinoe to the crowd following the match. "I don't know who to thank other than every single person. Reflecting myself on what it's meant to play here and to be here, and it's just always felt like home."
"To be able to play here my whole career, in one city, basically with one manager, it's just really special to be able to have this," she said.
