Employees at federal science agencies try to shield themselves from political influence

Some federal employees say they were pressured to alter or remove language regarding climate science in their research and policies during the first President-elect Donald Trump administration. Unions representing certain agencies have bolstered their contracts with language intended to help protect them from political influence.
