How can we thrive in an uncertain world? Nassim Nicholas Taleb identifies a category of things that not only depend on disorder -- they thrive on it. For example: human bones get stronger when subjected to stress, and riots intensify when someone tries to suppress them.

Taleb spoke about the concept he calls "antifragile" on December 12, 2012 at Seattle's Town Hall. Nassim Nicholas Taleb is an essayist and scholar whose work focuses on probability and uncertainty. His most recent book is called "Antifragile: Things That Gain From Disorder."
