Election workers are still processing and counting ballots from last week's primary election, and some of the early results we saw on election night have shifted.

Right now one of the Washington Republicans who voted to impeach President Trump is staring down defeat.

Jim Brunner joins Soundside to discuss the latest in the race for second place in the 3rd Congressional District between Jaime Herrera Beutler and Joe Kent.

Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is in first place with nearly 31% of the vote, but since this interview aired, there has been a dramatic twist in the race, with Kent now leading Herrera Beutler by 960 votes.

Correction notice, 1:07p.m. on Wednesday, 10/2/2024: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that this race took place in the 3rd Legislative District. The story has been amended to reflect that this race was in the 3rd Congressional District.
