Melissa Laird

Melissa Laird came to KUOW in 2017 as a Major Gifts Officer after having worked in major gifts and planned giving at The Nature Conservancy in Seattle and, prior to that, KCTS/9 Television. Her work in conservation led her to write the novel “Messing with God’s Country.”

Melissa is a public radio nerd: she listens to Morning Edition and ATC, 1A, Selected Shorts, the New Yorker Fiction podcast, and LA Theater Works. She has a masters degree in Ethnomusicology from the University of Washington.
