Depp is awarded more than $10M in defamation case against Heard and she gets $2M
Actor Johnny Depp has won his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard, as the jury announced its verdict in the widely watched case on Wednesday. The seven-member jury found that Depp is entitled to $10 million in compensatory damages and punitive damages of $5 million. But, because Virginia state law limits punitive damages to $350,000, the actual amount to be awarded Depp is $10.35 million.
