The quietest place in the world is … right here in Washington state
Gordon Hempton is the Sound Tracker.
He works in Port Townsend, which is on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state, and is an advocate for quiet places.
“Today, in our isolation chambers called offices, cars and homes, where we have sound-deadening materials installed to keep out the toxic noise pollution, our lives are a lot about not listening," he said.
In this special bonus episode of The Wild, we encourage you to take out your headphones, find your own quiet place, and really listen.
