Reined in yet vibrant, Lit Crawl Seattle celebrates writerly spirits

We’ve been fans of Lit Crawl Seattle for years at Speakers Forum. The event always makes and holds space for an embarrassment of local literary riches. And if one happens to enjoy a favorite beverage along the way, all the better.

As with many other events, the coronavirus pandemic shuttered Lit Crawl last year. This year, on the cusp of a hopefully sustained reopening, the organizers invited fans to mask up and keep the spirit of Lit Crawl alive with a night of poetry and storytelling.

The evening started with poems from the Seattle Arts & Lectures youth poet laureate cohort, which included Ayana Islas, Bayla Cohen-Knott, Henry Morgan, Sejal Akerkar, and Tallula Shaughnessy.

Hour two featured poets Abi Pollokoff and Patrycja Humienik.

Hour three, hosted by Jack Straw Writers Program Curator E. J. Koh, included C. R. Glasgow, José Luis Montero, and Greg November.

And the program ended with poems from Washington State Poet Laureate Rena Priest.
