Bill Radke talks to KUOW arts reporter Marcie Sillman and Sean Nelson, arts and music editor at The Stranger, about the closing of two Landmark movie theaters in Seattle, Guild 45th and Seven Gables Theatre.

The Landmark Theatres chain has closed Seattle’s Seven Gables Theatre and the Guild 45th, effective immediately. In a tweet, Landmark announced that the theaters would undergo renovation, with no details about timelines or even if the venerable art houses would reopen. The tweet directed local cinephiles to the Crest Cinemas in Shoreline.

Calls to Landmark offices in LA were referred to a NYC publicist who could provide no further details.
