The speaker you’ll hear in this episode of Speakers Forum says “That’s nuts!” fairly often. He does it after listing the ways the world, and Americans in particular, responds to the climate change crisis.

Anthony Leiserowitz knows what he’s talking about — in great detail. If you want to know more about the dire state of climate change escalation and response, he’s an ideal guide.

Leiserowitz is a research scientist at Yale University’s School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. He directs the Yale Center for Environmental Communication and hosts the daily public radio report Yale Climate Connections.

He gave this talk, “Climate Change in the American Mind,” as part of the University of Washington Graduate School program BUNK: The Information Series on October 30 at UW’s Kane Hall. KUOW’s Sonya Harris recorded the event.
