Seattle Pride attendees on the end of Roe and what comes next
This weekend brought a mixture of emotions for the LGBTQ+ community in Seattle.
For many, it was a return to in-person Pride celebrations - including the first Seattle Pride Parade in downtown Seattle since 2019. But there was a shadow over the festivities.
Both from fall of Roe itself, and what that Supreme Court decision means for other rulings based on the principles of individual liberty and privacy.
That includes contraception access, laws governing private sexual activity, and marriage equality.
Soundside host Libby Denkmann headed down to the Pride Parade on Sunday to hear how some folks were feeling.
Thank you to everyone at Seattle Pride who took the time to speak with us. Including: Corie from Renton, Annie from Mill Creek, Julie Fortney, Janet and Oliva Sobczyk, Kaya Debarbaro, and Reagan Ramuno.
