PHOTOS: Sounders fans celebrate championship win
Packing downtown Seattle on an overcast weekday afternoon, thousands of soccer fans celebrated the Seattle Sounders' second MLS Cup win with a parade from Westlake Park to Seattle Center.
The partying has gone on since Sunday when the Seattle Sounders beat Toronto FC here at home 3-1.
Fans like Marlyce Erickson, who was completely covered in green and blue at Tuesday's parade, said this is only the beginning for Seattle soccer.
"We've got a big stadium, we got lots of fans here, we're definitively a soccer city," Erickson said, "I think it's going to be nothing but moving forward."
The parade, a sea of bright green scarves, headed to Seattle Center where a rally was held at Fischer Pavilion.
Sounders team members stood on double-decker buses and hoisted the massive MLS Cup up for all to see.
Seattle has played Toronto three times
This is their second championship win in the last four seasons.
The team beat Toronto for their first championship in 2016, but then lost in the final to Toronto in 2017.
