The word "romance" may not be the first thing that pops into your mind when you think of the Pacific Northwest. But let's face it, we're home to some pretty iconic love stories.

There are the classics, like "Sleepless in Seattle," starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. There's the teen flick "10 Things I Hate About You" (loosely based on Shakespeare's play, "The Taming of the Shrew") with Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Gabrielle Union.

And now, a new summer flick has entered the canon of great Pacific Northwest love stories and this one has orcas.

It's called "A Splash of Love," and it's Hallmark's newest offering to an audience looking for high drama and family-friendly romance.

Soundside invited three local orca experts to give their input on how "A Splash of Love" depicts marine scientific research, and how orcas are really doing in the Pacific Northwest.
