Bold women tell stories of global struggles for equal rights

What difference can a day make? For half of the world’s population who struggle with social, economic, and political inequity, a day honoring women may be only symbolic, but could be life changing.

Seattle’s most recent International Women’s Day celebration, “Be Bold for Change," took place at Town Hall Seattle on March 8.

Martha Adams, the producer of the documentary "Girl Rising"— a film that explores how it is that 130 million girls around the world are denied access to education, and how to change that fact -- gave the keynote speech. She was joined by a powerful group of Seattle-area women who shared personal and historical perspectives and hopes for the future.
