Alleged neo-Nazi from Washington state arrested in Texas

A Washington state man with alleged neo-Nazi ties has been arrested and charged in Texas with possessing firearms.

Aidan Bruce-Umbaugh was riding in a car with another man who’s also accused of belonging to a group that incites racial violence – and who had his guns seized in King County last month.

Bruce-Umbaugh faces federal charges of possession of a firearm and marijuana. He was riding in a car driven by Kaleb Cole when they were stopped by sheriff’s deputies in Texas for speeding last week.

Both men are suspected members of the neo-Nazi group Atomwaffen division. Authorities also have a photo of the two men outside a Nazi death camp on a recent trip to Europe.

Bruce-Umbaugh claimed to be the owner of marijuana, semiautomatic rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition in the car in Texas. Last month federal authorities asked King County officials to seek an “extreme risk protection order” against Cole, which allowed them to remove guns from his parent’s house.

It’s not clear if Cole will face criminal charges in Texas, although he’s now prohibited from possessing firearms in Washington state.

Atomwaffen is said to idolize Hitler and Charles Manson, and has used hate speech toward Jewish people, the LGBTQ community and people of color.

In documents filed in support of the protection order, police said Cole had participated in organized "hate camps" in Washington state that included firearms training, and was preparing for a "race war."
